How to get from Fes airport and train station to your apartment
Fes is easy to reach, but the first hour can feel confusing if nobody has told you how the transport works. This is the short version, written for guests staying in our apartments in the modern part of the city.
From Fès-Saïss airport
The airport sits about 15 km south of the city. By road, the new town is roughly 20 minutes away in light traffic, and the medina gates are around 25 to 35 minutes away.
- Grand taxi (the simple choice). The official ranks are outside the arrivals hall. The city’s small red petit taxis do not normally take airport fares, so the larger grand taxi is the one you want. Agree the price before your bags go in the car. Travelers report a range of roughly 150 to 250 MAD, and fares are higher at night. Carry cash in dirhams.
- City bus line 16. It runs between the airport and the railway station in the new town and costs only a few dirhams. It is the cheapest option, but it is slower with luggage, and you will need a short taxi ride afterwards.
- Private transfer. If you land late or are traveling with family, a transfer booked in advance at a fixed price avoids any haggling.
Our 3-bedroom apartment near the airport is in a gated residence close to the airport and Akdital Hospital, which suits early flights and late arrivals.
From the train station
Fès-Ville is the main station, in the new part of the city. Trains connect Fes with Meknes, Rabat, Casablanca and Marrakech, and you can check schedules and book on the ONCF website or at the station.
- Meknes: around 40 minutes.
- Rabat: about 3 hours, with trains roughly every hour.
- Casablanca: about 4 hours.
- Marrakech: about 6 to 7 hours.
From the station, a red petit taxi to our apartments is a short, metered ride. The Spacious Family Apartment and the Elegant Cozy Apartment are both about a 12-minute drive from the train station.
Check-in and arrival
Check-in is after 3:00 PM and uses a lockbox, so you can arrive when it suits you. Send us your flight or train time and we will message you the directions and the lockbox details. If a taxi driver does not know the address, share your location from WhatsApp and call us.
Every guest shows a valid ID or passport as part of check-in, as Moroccan law requires, and Moroccan couples need to present a marriage certificate. Please have both ready when you arrive.
